DNS Made Easy, the world leader in enterprise IP Anycast DNS services, announced a successful completion of the company’s latest data center expansion project in Chai Wan, Hong Kong. After nearly a year of planning and several months of equipment and configuration work at Mega-iAdvantage, Hong Kong’s premier international collocation facility, public DNS service has been turned up to support DNS Made Easy customers and their clients in the Asia Pacific region. This expansion significantly reduces a query response time to DNS Made Easy name servers in the far east by replacing the aging DNS Made Easy Kowloon, Hong Kong location, and opens up the region to DNS Made Easy’s Global Traffic Director platform. DNS Made Easy claims that the upgrade of the Hong Kong data facility is another step in confirming that DNS Made Easy is the preferred choice to over-priced and under performing alternatives in the enterprise IP Anycast market.
The Hong Kong point of presence (POP) is labeled as a “SuperPOP” internally at DNS Made Easy, along with three other SuperPOP locations; including New York NY, Los Angeles CA, and London UK. SuperPOP locations within the DNS Made Easy infrastructure are larger than other DNS Made Easy POPs in order to become regional support sites for increased traffic levels, such as those generated from DDoS attacks. Hong Kong is the fourth such SuperPOP and the twelfth international POP incorporated in to the DNS Made Easy global infrastructure.
Nearly one million U.S. dollars has already been invested or set in contract for the Hong Kong location, which houses high end Juniper networking gear and dense blades used in the authoritative DNS clusters that ultimately provide the redundancy and speed that DNS Made Easy customers have come to rely on. This equipment and network capacity is vital to DNS Made Easy deployment of their independent triple IP Anycast cloud architecture; a first in the industry.
