Are You Evaluating Your Service Providers?

Don't Risk Another Outage

DNS Made Easy, the world leader in uptime and speed, establishes “Internet Performance Promise” initiative, which urges users to vet their service providers and demand 100% uptime.

DNS Made Easy’s “Internet Performance Promise” initiative was established following DNS outages amongst two major players in Internet services. The outages knocked Internet giants like Imgur and Yelp offline for hours.

“It has become paramount that all businesses with an online presence evaluate their service providers based on reliability first,” says President of DNS Made Easy Steven Job.

The new initiative aims to educate system administrators how to evaluate service providers for reliability, performance, and support. Job urges prospective clients to,

“Vet your service providers. Monitor their network reliability, demand guaranteed uptime, and verify their SLA’s.”

These are common practices that DNS Made Easy uses when evaluating data providers and network peering partners.

DNS Made Easy recently celebrated being ranked as the global leader in speed two months in a row, according to third party network monitoring firm SolveDNS. The company’s network is also renowned as touting the longest uptime history among managed DNS providers for 15 years. In the last two years, DNS Made Easy was the only major DNS provider to maintain 100% uptime.

“Our Internet Performance Promise will not only strive to educate clients on how to assess service providers, but stress the importance of maintaining high levels of performance across the full spectrum of cloud-based DNS hosting services,” says Job.

Job asserts that DNS performance is based on the combination of consistently low resolution times on a global scale, efficient query routing, guaranteed uptime, and airtight infrastructure.

DNS, or the Domain Name System, is the proverbial glue the holds the Internet together. It is the core system that translates domain names into IP addresses. Managed DNS providers, like DNS Made Easy, use IP Anycast infrastructure to host this information and manage query routing on a global scale. For example, users can balance their traffic loads across different name servers (like: ns1 or ns2) to ensure optimal query routing for all users.
