By now I am sure everyone has heard or read something about the OpnSSL bug CVE-2014-0160 (aka Heartbleed bug) and are most likely wondering if this bug has affected their DNS Made Easy account. We would like to put your mind at ease and officially announce that our systems were not affected by this bug. After the announcement of the bug’s existence on Monday April 7th, our team of administrators immediately checked and confirmed that the bug did not have any effect on our systems.
Now that the Heartbleed bug has everyone thinking about security, I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone about our newly added security feature “2-Factor Authentication”. Recently DNS Made Easy has took steps to further secure your account by adding the ability to enable 2-Factor Authentication. Two-Factor Authentication, when enabled, provides an additional level of security to your DNS Made Easy account. Corporate level customers can also make use of login ACLs which can be used to restrict logins to an account from only specified addresses.
