This is just a quick note to our clients and anyone else interested in the federal government’s move to cloud computing. In late September, I wrote a piece, “U.S. Government Moving Data to Cloud Computing,” and discussed the fact that folks in private industry weren’t the only ones moving their data to cloud computing storage systems. Obviously, given the title of the blog post, the U.S. Government is doing the same thing. I then discussed a forum, the Federal Cloud Innovation Forum, that was also taking place in early October.
In fact, the Federal Cloud Innovation Forum had originally been scheduled for October 3rd, with featured keynote speaker General Colin Powell. However, due to the government shutdown the forum was postponed until today (Powell and a great line up of other speakers will still be speaking). DNS Made Easy will be attending the event and providing live tweets. (I”ll be doing it from my twitter handle: @Cryn_Johannsen). So, if you want to follow this conversation via twitter, you can find quotes and analysis about the discussion from me.
I hope you’ll join in on this exciting conversation!
