DNS Made Easy hosted a very well-received webinar on July 8th, featuring their new feature Real-Time Statistics (RTS).
DNS Made Easy’s RTS 101 Webinar was viewed by hundreds of clients, potential new users, and IT professionals. The session focused on how Real-Time Statistics is revolutionizing DNS monitoring and discussed the implications of this newfound platform. In addition to the educational discussion, many viewers posited some great questions regarding the functionality and user interface of RTS.
“Honestly, I believe RTS has the potential to seriously change the way administrators analyze DNS and interpret data,” says President Steven Job of DNS Made Easy, “with potentials to optimize web performance for SEO, to anticipating DDOS attacks.” Although RTS is a new feature, Job is confident that in the near future he will see exponentially more impacts of how RTS is optimizing DNS.
The major focus of the webinar was to discuss “What is RTS?” which presenter Richard Smith explained, “RTS brings all your query data together into one simple and intuitive dashboard.” Smith is DNS Made Easy’s senior support specialist, with an expertise in RTS. “With Real-Time Stats, it’s easy to see the information you actually care about,” because the interface brings everything users need into one screen which allows them to make faster and better-informed decisions.
Simply put, RTS allows users to analyze query traffic by:
- Domain
- Resource Record
- Location
- Time Frame
Smith showed users how to filter and aggregate their data in the easy-to-use interface and showed examples using parent company Tiggee’s real-time data. “RTS runs query analytics every ten minutes, making sure you always know exactly what’s going on up to the minute.” Smith also demoed their new feature Automated Query Reporting which allows users to see automatically updated statistics of their query traffic. Smith then showed users how automatic reporting in real time enables users to detect possible attacks and hack attempts early-on.
Smith explained some of the various impacts of using RTS such as: manipulating filters to identify potential IPv6 customers and highlighted the streamlined troubleshooting process. Smith then showed users how to analyze data through different views such as Chart View and Tabular View. Each method allows users to visualize and correlate data in different ways, so no problem can never be missed.
