The DNS Made Easy mission with their new website aims to highlight the vast array of features and traits to look for when shopping for a DNS provider, rather than seeking out the fastest or cheapest services.
The new DNS Made Easy website urges users to reevaluate what they look for in their DNS provider, from network capacity to customer support. The new website will achieve this by posting regularly updated statistics, gathered from third party services, showcasing more than just the speed of their global IP Anycast + network.
“We use third party monitoring platforms, like the Constellix Sonar monitoring suite, to track regional resolutions times and analyze routing patterns,” says Job.
Enterprise level DNS performance is achieved through the combination of reliability, scalability, capacity, speed, and finally meetings the actual needs of users. The most common mistake people make is they look for the lowest resolution times, and ignore the other factors.
“It does not matter how fast you are, if you are down at all, then you negate all of the performance you were working on for years. This is why we always focus on reliability first, and this is why it’s our most important requirement when evaluating performance,” says President of DNS Made Easy Steven Job.
One of the largest hurdles DNS managers face when shopping for a provider is trying to dodge all the marketing jargon and the pressure of sales representatives when they’re trying to evaluate a provider. DNS Made Easy has always stood firm in their belief that their product can speak for itself through the statistics gathered from third parties and their 14 year long track record; as opposed to using a sales team. The new website will make this abundantly clear, featuring the hard facts and statistics about uptime and capacity.
“We’re putting everything on the table, from retention rates to resolution times,” says Job. “We believe in complete transparency, without having to force our clients to jump through hoops. All of our statistics will be on the top of our home page, and updated regularly.”
This bold move has prompted DNS Made Easy engineers to also examine the recent effects of their two new points of presence in Amsterdam and Singapore, and they’ve just released a study on the effects as early as a week after implementation.
