Third party monitoring firm, SolveDNS, ranked DNS Made Easy as the industry leader for speed during the month of November.
Month after month DNS Made Easy’s network has outperformed all the other cloud-based DNS providers in global speeds according to third party network monitoring firm SolveDNS. The firm also reports on each company’s market share of domains, ranking DNS Made Easy as third in the industry.
SolveDNS monitors all the top DNS providers from seven different points around the world. Each month, the firm releases its results and ranks the providers by the speed they respond to queries from their monitoring nodes.
“For the past 15 years, we have dedicated the majority of our resources towards developing our infrastructure and services. We attribute our industry’s best speeds to our recent improvements and expansions to our network,” says President of DNS Made Easy Steven Job.
The company recently added two new points of presence in Singapore and Amsterdam, which greatly improved regional resolution times.
While resolution times are an easy way to rank providers, it is just one of many factors that contribute to the actual performance of a network. It is important to note that speed, or really any factor singled out, should not be the deciding factor for why one DNS service is preferable over another. Rather, service providers should be evaluated based on a combination of global resolution times, network security, and reliability.
In light of recent attacks against a major DNS provider and the widespread outages that followed, DNS Made Easy to strongly evaluate their providers for redundancy and reliability. Recent reports have shown that a high number of top domains are still vulnerable to these kinds of outages. As an added measure of security, DNS Made Easy has recommended that all businesses reliant on the Internet for revenue add a Secondary DNS provider.
DNS Made Easy has revealed in previous reports how they are able to ensure the best speeds and reliability for their clients all around the world using their 5thgeneration network. The DNS Made Easy network uses IP Anycast + technology, which enables their network to be self-healing and able to withstand large attacks. The key to DNS Made Easy’s speeds is the placement of their points of presence (PoP) and the providers they partner with.
